New Year

New now to you and new to me too

New for the many, new for the few

New way to reconcile, new way to view

New time to measure the lies and the truth

New indiscretions and brand-new mistakes

New line of learning, new plans to be made

New faith in the wayward, new live and let live

New way to take less than that which we give

A new way to look upon those we have lost

New way to weigh up both the gain and the cost

A new way to start to make sense of it all

A new time to learn how to run, walk and crawl

New day to take back what we already have

New angle to take all the good from the bad

New sense of perspective and new sense of worth

New way to see value in sombre and mirth

New is the byway to trip a new line

New is the highway to dance and define

New are the moves while the vision is clear

New start and new end take the lead from New Year
