Shoreline

Dancing on the shoreline

Reflecting on a time line

This life line brings me here

Overcome by joy and drenched in tears

Stepping over flotsam

And skipping past the jetsam

Dwelling on the future

While ravaged by the past

Lulled by rolling surf

To anaesthetise the roar

Sun plays on my face

To soothe and to restore

The crunch and rumble

Slip and stumble

We fall, we rise, we falter, we shine

While dancing on the shoreline
